Getting to Lake Macquarie

Travel by Road

Travel by road along the M1 Pacific Highway.

Lake Macquarie is a 2 hour drive north from Sydney or a 40 minute drive south from Newcastle.

The Pacific Highway is linked to Melbourne in the south and to Cairns in Far North Queensland.

The New England Highway and The Golden Highway will bring travelers to Lake Macquarie from the northern tablelands and from the west through the Hunter Valley.

Take a road trip and enjoy the journey.
 

Travel by Train

Travel by train from Sydney on the Central Coast & Newcastle Line to stations in the Lake Macquarie region. Fassifern is the nearest station to the conference venues.

 

Interstate rail from Queensland will travel through this area with limited stops. Interstate rail from other states will link to the Central Coast & Newcastle Line in Sydney.

 

If travelling by train a shuttle bus service will operate 9-10 September from Fassifern station to your accommodation or to car hire at  Newcastle Car & Truck Hire, who are offering a discount rate to convention goers.  We recommend that you have a car during your stay or car pool with others.  Shuttle bus bookings are essential, register by email tdgcpres@gmail.com

Travel by Plane

Fly to Newcastle airport.

The airport is a 40 minute drive away from Warners Bay on Lake Macquarie. You can hire a car at the airport. Europcar, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Hertz Car Hire and Budget operate at the airport.

 

Fly to Sydney airport.

Sydney airport is linked by rail to Sydney Central Railway Station. At Sydney Central Station link to the Central Coast & Newcastle Line for a 2 hour scenic trip north across the Hawkesbury River to the Lake Macquarie Stations close to your accommodation.
